Health Disclaimer
Group classes are designed for those who are in good health. If you have a health issue or injury, classes may not be suitable for you. If you do join, you do so at your own risk.
It is your responsibility to consult your G.P before joining a class to ensure that it is safe and suitable for you to attend yoga and somatics classes and partake in physical exercise as well as meditation, breathwork and relaxation practices.

It is your responsibility to inform your yoga teacher of any health issues you have before joining a class and to keep your teacher up to date with any changes to your health. Please ensure you provide details of any health issues when registering on the Momoyoga booking system or, alternatively please send an email summarising your health issues to somayogaleeds@gmail.com.

There is an inherent risk associated with any exercise program that can result in injury. The proliferation of yoga in recent years has seen an increase in injuries incurred during classes - often as a result of students pushing or forcing the body. Yoga postures and exercises should not cause pain or be forced. They should be approached moderately and not feel extreme in any way.

It is intended that participants continually listen to their body sensations throughout class to gauge whether the practice feels safe and appropriate. Yoga and somatics are non-competitive practices that should be approached within a framework of comfort, enjoyment, easy breathing and compassion/kindness. If any of the techniques or exercises feel awkward, uncomfortable, painful, do not make sense, make you anxious or cause you to experience panic then you must adjust the practice appropriately to suit your body or stop and rest.

Some yoga and meditation practices (e.g. guided relaxation, use of imagery, mindfulness meditation / meditation, Yoga Nidra, guided visualisations, eye exercises, use of self-touch and palpation (non-exhaustive-list)) may not be suitable for those with a history of mental and emotional health conditions. If you have a history of mental and/or emotional health issues or trauma history, please seek permission from your G.P and discuss with your teacher before attending classes. If any practices make you feel anxious, unsure or triggered in any way, please stop them immediately. Only go as far as you are comfortable with any of the practices.

Please note that you are responsible for your own physical, emotional and mental well being during classes. I would like all students to make choices that feel right for their body and mind during class, take ownership of their experience, and practice with a sense of agency and empowerment. The exercises offered in class are invitational and given as suggestions not instructions. You are very welcome to skip any practices that you don’t enjoy, don’t feel right , that you’re not sure about, or that don’t resonate. Please refrain from any practice that causes pain.

In joining a class, you accept all risks, known or unknown, including the risk of physical, mental or emotional injury, minor and/or severe bodily harm, death, and/or illness that could arise as a result of the practices undertaken in class.
