Janita completed her first 200-hour vinyasa teacher Training in South Africa in 2017, after practicing yoga for more than 15 years. She studied Buddhist philosophy and meditation in India in the same year and had the good fortune of continuing studies in mindfulness, philosophy and Tibetan movement practices with her Tibetan teachers during 2020. She has also completed a further 300 hour vinyasa teacher training as well as a 50 hour yin teacher training to be able to offer guidance in a variety of mindful movement practices. In addition to teaching in person, Janita facilitates international retreats and mindful experiences around the world and is currently teaching a new generation of yoga teachers together with her yoga partner in South Africa.

On Wednesday 8 January Janita is giving this class instead of Kathleen. This class is given in English. Vinyasa slow flow yoga is an active, dynamic form of yoga. In the slow flow classes the pace is somewhat slower than in the vinyasa flow yoga. You move in a slow flow from one position to another to the rhythm of the breath. Vinyasa flow yoga is aimed at developing strength, endurance and flexibility in the body and calming the mind. Kathleen applies trauma sensitive yoga as a foundation for her practices, including the practice of invitational language and offering choice for movements in which she hopes to create an inclusive practice for the community.
