What is this workshop about and who is it for?

This two-part workshop is geared towards people who love to move and explore their bodies, bodyworkers, and especially people who are currently or have dealt with pain in the low back, hips and knees.

These three areas often carry a lot of mystique around them:

Some say the hips store emotions,
Others believe they were just born with bad knees…
And most modern humans WILL develop lower back, hip or knee issues if they don’t learn to stretch and strengthen the right areas of their core and lower body.

While there seems to be a lot of mystery around these areas and all the stories they can hold, this workshop will give you the chance to decode what YOUR body needs in order to cultivate a broader range of pain-free motion.

In this two-part workshop, you will explore the lenses of biomechanics, anatomy and Ayurveda to inform your approach to movement practices, physical training, and bodywork.

This workshop aims for you to get a longer, freer health-span through the health of your joints.

What’s on tap for this workshop?

The midday Yoga practice (1.5 hr) will focus on Yoga poses, core work, self-myofascial release, and mobility exercises for healthy hips, low back and knees.

After a lunch break we meet again -

All-hands-on-deck for two hours of Bliss Bodywork. Here you will learn the basics of functional anatomy and biomechanics required to know what hips, backs and knees need to stay in a healthy range of motion. You will practice working with different bodywork and structural integration techniques along the kinetic chains needed to free up the lower body from pain and dysfunction.

Engage in a therapeutic Yoga practice to structurally integrate movement patterns in the hip, knees and low back. You will stretch and strengthen key muscles for maintaining or improving lower body mobility.

Lunch Break - treat yo’ self & recharge
2:00 - 4:00 pm

Bliss Bodywork: Demystify Pain and Reaching for Bliss
4:00 - 6:00 pm

Learn from functional anatomy, biomechanics, muscle testing and Ayurveda to learn how to work with and address the causes and realities of pain and discomfort in the knees, hips and low back.


What do I need to participate?

This workshop is easily digestible and super hands-on.

No prior anatomy or bodywork knowledge is required to dive in, just a willingness to learn.

Prior experience with any movement-based practice is helpful though current level of physical fitness or pain-free mobility should not limit your participation.

If you are experiencing current or recurrent pain in your low back, hips or knees, this workshop is designed to help get you out of pain - so don’t use pain as an excuse to stay in pain.

If your pain situation is currently very acute, I would recommend a 1-1 session so we can address your unique situation in a more direct, non-teaching format.

Note: If you are not comfortable working on someone else’s body, or having your body worked on by someone else, you will be guided through alternatives in the bodywork portion of the workshop to further your feel-good through self-bodywork and myofascial release.
