Julie Fournier
Julie Fournier (she / her), E-RYT 500, Certified Opening Yoga Instructor (OYI) Julie became a certified yoga teacher after 12 years of international development work. She started working with individuals living with chronic illnesses and mobility restrictions in 2014 and obtained additional certifications in adaptive yoga in 2018 and 2019. Julie found in yoga a set of principles that helped her become more compassionate and resilient. She offers group classes, workshops and private sessions in which she weaves self-reflection, breathing practices, gentle movement and references from yoga philosophy and other mind-body approaches. Her wish is to help students ground and settle in their bodies and open up to the myriad of possibilities for growth and realization that yoga has to offer. Description

Online option for this hybrid class. If you would like to register for the in-person version of class, please select that class in the class schedule.

Sustainable Practice classes focus on how to work with our yoga practice so that it can be sustainable over time. We practice different options of yoga poses, listening to our bodies so that we can practice variations to best suit our unique beings for optimal benefits from our practice over the long-haul. On a physical level, the class is taught from the perspective of the importance of the nervous system in healthy movement and therefore starts with slow and mindful movement and breath. Class also includes stability-work, restorative postures and of course, an ending rest (savasana) to integrate our experiences.

All bodies are welcome!
