Yoga Nidra is a practice of letting go and resetting the nervous system and is more than a meditation technique, but rather a state of being that grants you access to an embodied experience of letting go. In letting go of everything you're not you can realize everything that you are.
>
> When preparing oneself for the practice of yoga Nidra it is of utmost importance to be supported and comfortable. You are encouraged to use supports that allow you to surrender and find the most ease while you take the position of rest. In studio support options include mats, bolsters and blankets, but feel free to bring your own! Also an eye pillow or light scarf to lay across the eyes and socks for the feet will assist your sensory system in feeling safe, as well as staying warm. While yoga Nidra is traditionally practiced lying down, you will be shown other supportive positions that may work better for you if lying down is not comfortable.
> We will begin each class learning about yoga Nidra before diving into the practice. Each week you can expect to build your understanding of yoga Nidra, its benefits, and how to incorporate it into your life. The first 15-20 minutes will be teaching and discussion and the next 40 - 45 minutes will be the practice itself. The practice part of the class will be recorded and given to you to listen to and practice with between our weekly sessions.
