Marco Migliavacca
Marco was born in Milan in 1976, studied art at the Brera Academy and began working in the world of communication. He approaches yoga for the first time in 2000 but, only in 2005, having moved to Barcelona, this encounter turns into a deep and passionate daily dialogue.
In 2009, having completed his first training in hatha vinyasa yoga, he returned to Milan where he began to share the practice and its benefits.
In 2012 he opened the first of two [hohm] street yoga studios, a landmark for the study and practice of this discipline in Milan, which over the next 10 years hosted international teachers and offered trainings and seminars.
Over the years, Marco travels to Spain, Germany, England, India and the United States where he studies with a variety of teachers, including John and Lucy Scott, Sharon Gannon and David Life, David C. Kyle, Leslie Kaminoff, Dharma Mittra, Bo Forbes, Angela Farmer, Rod Stryker and David Regelin.
Of particular importance in his training are his encounters with Biff Mithoefer, with whom he deepened his study of Yin Yoga and Taoism, Prema Mayi, who guided him on the path of Bhakti Yoga, and finally Abbie Galvin and Nevine Michaan, thanks to whom he discovered the Katonah Yoga method, a syncretic practice combining hatha yoga, Chinese medicine and sacred geometry.
In 2021 he became a certified Katonah yoga teacher and began teaching in the mentorship of the katonah yoga center in New York.
In 2020 and 2021 he collaborates with Dérive on a series of projects combining music and yoga for Nike. Also for Nike, in 2021 she creates a project for the Terraforma festival along with music by Caterina Barbieri.
Starting in 2021 he joins the teaching staff of Yoga Academy (yogaacademy.it).
"Yoga, this constant mystical inquiry between the personal and the universal, is a journey of learning and discovery, reminding us in every moment that living means being in relationship, learning to mediate between polarities, and that practicing is tantamount to recognizing the responsibility we have toward ourselves and our actions.
This ancient discipline provides us with practical and ever-present techniques that we can all benefit from in our daily lives. Yoga helps us to inhabit the body, to function at our best psychophysically and to recognize our potential, and this can only make us freer and happier."
