Vayayama is a traditional form of yoga sports that focuses on dynamic movements and breath control. It is believed to have originated in India over 10,000 years ago and has been practiced by yogis ever since. The word 'vayayama' comes from the Sanskrit words 'vaya' meaning 'air' and 'ayama' meaning 'expansion'. Together, they refer to the expansion of vital energy or prana through the practice of controlled breathing and movement.
Vayayama is practiced traditionally because it has numerous physical and mental benefits. Physically, it improves flexibility, strength, endurance, and balance. Mentally, it reduces stress, increases focus, and promotes overall well-being.
Vayayama is considered an internal practice that helps practitioners connect with their inner selves and achieve a sense of peace and harmony.
Try Yoga Sports and experience the transformative power it can have on your life. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, there is always room for growth and improvement.
