Mookaite Jasper
Mookaite (they / them) is a non-binary teacher who has been practicing yoga for 10 years. They are passionate about inclusive and accessible yoga, and believe that yoga is for all bodies. Since completing their 200 hours training in York with YogaCampus, Mookaite went on to qualify as a Yin Yoga teacher (also with YogaCampus) and also studied with the Accessible Yoga School. They are training to become a Gentle Years teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga, to teach chair yoga to older adults. Mookaite comes to yoga through a mental health lens, with movement and meditation forming a big part of their own self-care living with bipolar disorder. They founded Queer Yoga North in Saltburn and Middlesbrough, to share the mental health benefits of yoga with others in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Description

Queer social group at St Mary's Centre in Middlesbrough where we explore self-care tools, such as journaling, and discuss mental / physical wellbeing. Please note this is not a support or advice group. It is also not a diet-related club and participants are kindly asked to avoid conversations around weight loss. It is about meeting like-minded LGBTQIA+ people, with a focus on queer joy and self-reflection.
