Mookaite (they / them) is a non-binary teacher who has been practicing yoga for 10 years. They are passionate about inclusive and accessible yoga, and believe that yoga is for all bodies. Since completing their 200 hours training in York with YogaCampus, Mookaite went on to qualify as a Yin Yoga teacher (also with YogaCampus) and also studied with the Accessible Yoga School. They are training to become a Gentle Years teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga, to teach chair yoga to older adults. Mookaite comes to yoga through a mental health lens, with movement and meditation forming a big part of their own self-care living with bipolar disorder. They founded Queer Yoga North in Saltburn and Middlesbrough, to share the mental health benefits of yoga with others in the LGBTQIA+ community.

I’m a mixed Indian & British woman of colour, I’m neurodivergent and I’m queer. I live in York with my partner and our little family of rodents. With my partner, Jay, we run our small business The Teapot Collective that focuses on supporting individuals, communities and organisations to implement a trauma-informed approach and support them with equity and inclusion work. In 2020, during the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter Movement, with some of my friends, we founded York Anti Racist Collective (YARC). We are a community group that centres global majority people in York, focusing on healing through creative practice, building community and connection. I’m passionate about community, healing, social justice, re-indigenisation/decolonisation and yoga. Yoga excites me and gives me the hope I need to move through this world. Yoga is a detailed framework, an ancient gift, we can use together for collective liberation.

Anna (they / them) manages Lavender Lounge, which is our LGBTQIA+ space in Middlesbrough. They run craft nights, board game nights, and other social events.

Lou Thomas (They/Them) is a queer, neurodivergent, non-binary yoga teacher, embodiment specialist, and creative arts facilitator, who helps people connect with their bodies, themselves and their communities. Their work sits the intersection between well-being and social activism, and focuses on LGBTQIA+ community building. They place accessibility at the heart of what they do, and run therapeutic, trauma-informed and playful classes, workshops, and retreats around Brighton and online.
