Heathcote & Star, 344 Grove Green Road, Green Grove Room
Kiran SKG
Description
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi in search of something a bit different, this class is for you to refine yourself as a sound alchemist.
Containing breathing, meditations, mantra, voice activation, as well as essential physical practices as a means to activate and prepare the system for deeper experiences. Everything in this session works towards building a relationship with the subtle rhythms and melodies of life itself, helping to become our own Guru.
Based on Gurmat traditions, engaging and unifying the body, mind and energy, this is a participatory workshop, taking the act of listening from cerebral intellect to inner knowing in order to explore dimensions within, towards the goal of emotional and mental self-mastery.
Breath is highly important to yoga practices as it is the source of prana (vital energy) for the body and can be harnessed as the bridge to connect the mind and the body together. Sound yoga comes from the concept of “Ek Onkar” the primordial vibration AUM - a resonance which exists in all as manifested oneness. These sessions with Kiran help you to connect with omnipresence through voice, bansuri (bamboo flute), and dilruba (bowed sitar).
