Description
4 ounces to move 1000 pounds_
What is tai chi ?
Perhaps the black and white pattern in a circle like 2 fishes chasing each other or yin and yang comes to one’s mind. …….
“ Si Liang Bo qian Jin “ is a Chinese saying : using 4 ounces strength to move a 1000 pounds weight. This saying is frequently heard in Tai Chi classes around the globe.
This concept is not about one’s size, or even if your opponent is stronger than you are. It is about using tai chi concepts in practical life application.
With this concept we are dealing with “live weight” or moving object, and by applying leverage. But using mind and intent and NOT force.
_
My name is Adrian Ling, I learned tai chi when I was young, from the old master back in Malaysia. I began to take tai chi more seriously for the last 5 to 6 years. And been teaching in community centres, libraries and among friends and families.
I like to introduce the basic tai chi and qi gong to our community, both for wellness and physical health .
We will be working towards learning forms. Eg. Yang style 8, 16, 24, 32 forms.
Or Chen style 18 forms.
These will come to light more when we are physically there. The forms are the building blocks of tai chi.
And tai chi can be translated as : The supreme ultimate.
__
Book now for this session to explore movement and breath from a new angle.
