Courtney Jarrell first found yoga as a way to deal with the stress and anxiety of college life. While she found the postures good for her physical health, it was really the breathwork and positive effects on the mind that led Courtney to deepen her practice and seek out a teacher training program. In 2009 she got her 200 hour Hatha Yoga Certification from the Davenport School of Yoga in Davenport, Iowa. Since then, she has been teaching a variety of yoga classes from aerial yoga in Iowa to restorative and adaptive classes in Utah. In 2020 she deepened her training with the Prenatal Yoga Certification from Yoga Education Institute. Her passion is teaching alignment-based Hatha yoga of all levels. Her classes are open to all, offering students options to deepen their practice if they desire or offering modifications to fit their individual needs and restrictions. Courtney believes all people are able to do yoga and invites everyone to join her class.

Description

This beginner class is just what you need to learn the foundations of yoga. We will work on basic yoga poses, using props and focusing on alignment. We will also spend some time on simple breathing techniques and connecting the breath with the poses. If you’ve never done yoga before or just want to feel more confident with the proper alignment of each pose, this class will give you a framework to deepen your yoga practice and be ready to explore all the classes Yoga Mill has to offer.
