Hey I’m Natalie 🌻 Nature enthusiast, Ocean advocate and Yoga practitioner. After many years working underwater and tuning into nothing but the breath, I wanted to find the same stillness above the water as below. This journey led me to yoga. Teaching and practicing in a variety of styles has given me a deeper understanding of balance between our yin and Yang energies and the importance of play, expression and creativity. I am over the moon to be able to share this beautiful lifestyle with you, the roots of our practices being deeply grounded in balance and the movement of energy ⚡

Description

Do you struggle with wrist pain in yoga? Have you been put off attending a class due to your wrists?

Well you’re not alone!
Our wrists go through a great deal of repetitive motions in yoga as well as in our daily life. This means that taking care of our wrists is extremely important - not just for your yoga practice, but for all aspects life.

As someone who struggled for years with carpal tunnel, I understand the frustrations of not being able to practice in the ‘usual’ format of most yoga classes.

The fact is that our hands are not designed to bear all our body weight in the same way as the feet. Poses such as Phalakasana (plank), Chaturanga and Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (Upward facing dog) put extensive strain on the wrists often becoming increasingly clear over time, especially in more vigorous styles of yoga such as vinyasa and Ashtanga. This all too often leads to or worsens certain injuries including wrist pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Tendonitis.

However, never fear as there are plenty of wrist free poses to choose from!
We will be delving into a wrist free flow, as well as looking at ways in which we can strengthen, loosen, align and modify to alleviate pressure on the wrists.

This workshop will provide you with key tools to help you practice yoga safely with awareness and confidence.

We will be looking at the basic anatomy of the hands and wrists, how to use alignment and props, ways in which to warm up and loosen the soft tissues in the wrists and forearms as well as strengthen the surrounding areas to protect our wrists. We will, of course, be flowing throughout the workshop, with modifications and alternatives to weight bearing poses for the wrists as well as modified sun salutations and a wrist free vinyasa-hatha style flow.

Gain your confidence back in your yoga practice and your daily life!

£27 per person for the whole workshop
