Are you new to Yoga? Or has it been a while since you were last on the mat? We will start slowly and gently, discovering how we feel in the body as we move into a series of yoga poses to the extent that we can at the time. We will develop an understanding of the benefits of each and how to enter and exit each pose smoothly and safely. We will also look at variations that may be more beneficial for individual needs. We will synchronise the movements with the breath and learn some helpful pranayamas you can use on and off the mat as well as some simple mantras and their benefits. Yoga is wonderful in helping to manage and reduce stress, increase flexibility, strength and muscle tone, and effectively balance our entire system.

We creatively spiral our way around the mat descending deeper into our unconscious patterns. These dynamic sequences are playful yet strong. By syncing movement with breath we regain a sense of fluidity, embodying our natural rhythmic state – this is where the magic happens!

Week one - Wood element : Gall Bladder & Liver Meridian lines

Week two - Fire element : Small Intestine & Heart Meridian Lines

Week three - Earth element : Stomach & Spleen Meridian Lines

Week four - Metal element : Lungs & Large Intestine Meridian Lines

Week five - Water element : Kidney & Urinary Bladder Meridian lines

Yin Yoga Principles
The three principles of Yin (the three Tattvas)
1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth (find your edge and diminish the Ego)
2. Resolve to remain still (unless your body opens and allows you to go deeper)
3. Hold the pose for prolonged periods of time (1-20 minutes)

By following the three Tattvas of Yin, we are able work past the superficial layers of the body - tapping into our energy channels (meridian lines/Nadis) in a similar way to acupressure, as well as working into the deeper connective tissues of the body, such as the Tendons, Ligaments and Joint capsules.
