“Well, I definitely feel 150% better than I did when we started.” – Doris *
During this session of Healing Yoga, we began by setting our intentions as a conscious choice. We moved through neck-opening exercises that also released tension from the jaw and sides of the face. Focusing on shoulder exercises, we used small and large rotations, as well as arm twists, to activate the meridians of the arms. We worked through lower back, glutes, hamstrings, and hip exercises to activate the lower body’s meridians, muscles, and joints. Special attention was also given to the thighs, targeting both muscles and meridians, while incorporating balancing exercises.
We finished with legs up against the wall, using a yoga block to stimulate acupressure points at the base of the skull, enhancing the release of tension along the bladder meridian for deeper relaxation and mental clarity. This final pose provided a deep release of tension for both body and mind, easing tightness in the lower back and hips, promoting better circulation in the legs, improved digestion, and a deeper state of relaxation. It also encouraged a restful state as we scanned the body part by part for even deeper relaxation.
