Yin Yoga

Claire Moffatt
Claire’s journey to yoga started 25 years ago. She was in a high paced stressful job and needed to find something to balance her out. As a runner, Claire was used to moving through work and life at a brisk pace. Yoga asks you to do the opposite. The mental work of slowing down, becoming more present was a challenge. But, over time Claire fully embraced the practice. Seventeen years and many yoga classes later, Claire began her teacher training. Since then, she has completed her 500-hour yoga training, as well as training in prenatal/postpartum and yin yoga plus barre and mat Pilates. Claire’s approach is to make yoga as accessible as possible and introduce the philosophy of yoga in a relatable way. In April 2024 Claire became the Wellness in Residence at The Meetinghouse in north Ridgefield.
Description
In this 45-minute yin yoga class we will stay lower to the ground and hold poses for a longer duration to get deeper into the connective tissue. While not building strength yin yoga can be mentally challenging. It's a great option as a standalone or to double up with the later 8:15 am Slow Flow Yoga class.
