About Maui Yoga Path
ALOHA & NAMASTE,
In 2002, Deni opened the Maui Yoga Path beachfront studio for locals and visitors to enrich their lives through yoga practice. She is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher with extensive experience. She studied fifteen times in Pune, India, at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI), the heart and soul of Iyengar Yoga.
Deni’s love of teaching, keen eye, detailed/clear instructions, humor, and warmth come through as she motivates her students to develop their yoga practice.
Deni's deep connection to Iyengar Yoga began in the 1980s, and she has devoted years to studying and practicing it. Her transformative journey included fifteen trips and four years of intensive learning directly with the legendary B.K.S. Iyengar and his family in Pune, India.
Her travels through India and Nepal and visits to sacred sites have profoundly influenced her teaching style and life philosophy.
A dedicated teacher, yogini, and advocate for balance, Deni is known for her strength, flexibility, and independence. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she integrates love, wisdom, and grace into all areas of her life.
Passionate about travel, diversity, and embracing new experiences, Deni is also admired for her organized, healthy, and stylish approach to life.
Her journey is a testament to the power of new beginnings, and she continues to inspire others with her commitment to living fully and mindfully.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Deni made a life-changing move to Maui in December 1999, trading the winter chill for the Hawaiian Islands lush tropical paradise. It was there, amidst the stunning beauty of Kapalua, that she began teaching yoga at the renowned Ritz-Carlton, just as the Mercedes-Benz Golf Tournament was taking place. Over the years, she had the honor of guiding locals and visitors on their yoga journeys, leading classes at the former Sports Club Kahana, and embracing the chance to teach in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
In 2002, Deni expanded her impact on the island by opening Maui Yoga Path, a beachfront studio in Kihei at the Mana Kai Maui—a sanctuary where individuals could deepen their practice and find balance in both body and mind. The studio quickly became a cherished space for the community, offering a variety of classes, workshops, and a welcoming environment for all levels of practice.
