Nature & Clay: Make a Candle Holder with Emily Seville Cancelled
Sunday, December 3 •
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Nurture Saddleworth .
Description
Spend the afternoon exploring meaningful connection to nature and create a unique piece for cosy winter nights in this Candle Holder workshop with Emily Seville Studio.
In this workshop we will mindfully connect to the local natural landscape through with a walk in nature, guided meditation, and gathering natural materials.
Emily will then guide you through creating your own, unique candle holders out of clay, teaching you hand-building and decoration techniques to do so, including slab building and shaping. She will demonstrate a range of options for your holders to allow you the freedom to create your own unique pieces, whether that be dishes for tealights, plates for pillar candles or
even a piece for taper candles.
After the workshop, your pieces will be fired and glazed in a colour of your choice and returned to you at your convenience. Please note that general turn around for pieces is around 6 weeks - while Emily will endeavour to speed up this process, we cannot guarantee that your pieces will
be ready in time for Christmas.
This workshop is beginner friendly and you need no prior experience of working with clay to attend, Emily will guide and support you throughout the workshop to ensure you have a finished piece you are happy with.
t&c: Cancellation can be made up to 24 hours before the workshop (this is due to the preparation of materials for each participant)
Artist Bio: Emily Seville is Manchester based visual artist and meditation practitioner specialising in hand-built sculptural ceramics and watercolour painting. As both a practitioner and facilitator, her focus is on the connection between nature and well-being. Through her
practice and workshops, she employs a meditative, slow-making process and encourages an intuitive approach to making.
