Laura Bender
Yoga first made an appearance in Laura’s life several years ago and as an avid runner, she heard yoga could play a huge part in improving her form, mental control, breathing, flexibility and balance. Over the last few years, she discovered that it’s so much more than that. While her practice has helped her grow stronger and more flexible, it has taught her the importance of mindfulness and gratitude. Yoga inspires Laura to shine from her heart and open up her soul, to be her most authentic self. Laura completed her 200 hour Vinyasa training with Omnipresent Yoga and has gone on to complete her 300 hour training with My Vinyasa Practice as well as several other programs in Yin, Yoga Nidra, Mindfulness Meditation, Mindfulness Coaching, Aromatherapy, Sound Healing and Restorative Yoga. In addition, being a Reiki Master allows her to bring a holistic aspect to her classes that help balance the body and mind. Laura is currently an, E-RYT 500, and YACEP with Yoga Alliance.

Description

Unwind from the week and relax into the weekend. Yin Yoga explores poses for longer periods of time in order to let go of tensions stored in the body and to calm the nervous system to target deeper connective tissues especially around the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Infused in the longer, more passive holds is a meditative awareness of breath, mindfulness, and capturing that mellow presence. I will use props such as blocks, blankets and a bolster but they aren’t required. Other suggestions if you don’t have those exact items are thick books, pillows and couch cushions.
