About Prana Rose Yoga
My love for yoga is fearless.
⋯
I teach to serve my community with the intention to inspire and support continual, collective growth. In order to fuel this growth, my teaching style aims to raise awareness for the perceived limitations that hold us back (thoughts, patterns, beliefs...), while guiding students towards a state of equilibrium and a deeper connection to innate wisdom. My goal is to create an empowered environment that supports each student’s internal practice towards conscious evolution.
My classes offer a blend of creative and intentional sequencing, proprioceptive and anatomical awareness, and an emphasis on the philosophy of yoga. Rooted in traditional yoga and meditation practices, each class is crafted using scientific methods intended to empower a state of balance, control and freedom—especially within the mind. Sequenced in a mandala fashion, classes are designed to target all major joint rotations and marma points (energy points), activating the entire body to bring each student to a more grounded, centered state.
As a rock climber, contortionist, dancer, and overall athlete by heart, my experience in constantly pushing my limits has taught me the wisdom that lies behind the art and science of balance. What I have discovered along the way is that the key to balance lies within the subtleties - the art of playing with our boundaries while honoring our limits. This dance between control and surrender effectively “traps the mind”, bringing us closer to our true essence by peeling back the layers of illusion created by mental chatter. This practice sheds light on the unrecognized, untapped potential that lies within each of us, demonstrating the importance of pure awareness.
After discovering yoga at age 15, I was immediately drawn to the practice for more reasons than just physical movement. The philosophy felt very aligned with what I knew to be true, and the practice quickly became my sacred space. Five years into my practice, I followed my teacher to Thailand in pursuit of a deeper understanding of yoga and its roots. Upon my arrival back to the States, I noticed my perspective on life was so much more at ease. This is when I knew I wanted to teach in order to share the benefits of this ancient wisdom with my community.
Since then, I have continued to seek training under authentic teachers and have explored various styles, which has influenced what my teaching style has become today. Most recently, I have had the honor to study under Guruji Andrey Lappa (Founder of Universal Yoga), accomplishing both Level I and II trainings (2018 and 2019).
It is my true honor to be in this role as a teacher, especially of such a profound practice. But this does not set me apart from anyone, including my students — as to be a teacher, one must continue to practice what one teaches.
Last but not least! Thank you for your curiosity. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to offer what I have learned — and even better, thank you for being my teacher as well.
Namasté,
Karli
