Description
Deep Stretch is the "yin to the yang" -- however, it is not the official "Yin" style of yoga. It's a practice that lends balance to an active lifestyle, with poses held slightly longer through an active-passive approach.
Classes are intentionally sequenced to target all major joint rotations, thus more marma points (energy points), while activating the entire body to bring each student to a more grounded, centered state. The slower pace calms the nervous system, allowing each practitioner to dive deeper within & connect with their true essence.
An existing yoga practice will help each student as they enter this class, but beginners are welcome (so long as one shows up with an open mind, attention to instruction, & patience with self). Several options will be offered along the way to accommodate the various levels of practitioners.
Classes follow the principles of Universal Yoga (UY) -- a multi-faceted system of methods that represent the essential laws of yoga, guiding every practitioner to connect with their highest potential & existence of life. Drawing a scientific & geometrical approach, UY unifies all methods & disciplines of traditional yoga, & can be used for all individuals, & for any broad or specific goal in yoga (founded by Guruji Andrey Lappa).
Specific UY experience is not required.
