Join Jennifer Brouillard of Roots to Fly Wellness for this moderately paced Vinyasa flow yoga class focused on breath work, strengthening, and stretching. Knowledge of the yoga poses is needed for this class as we will move a bit quicker than my gentle yoga classes, but lots of modifications are still given to meet my yogis at their various levels of practice. Come connect with your breath, find your center, meet yourself at your edge, and tune into your body and your intuition. Come as you are, take what you need, rest when you need to (it's ok to say no to a pose and rest in child), and release what no longer serves you. I will always remind you to do what is best for you and to listen to your body. Remember, what you do to bring peace to your inner being helps to bring peace to the world.

Yin yoga is a stretching focused class done with a cool body. Poses are held for 2-5 mins and are all low to the ground. Poses are all offered with a modification to make each pose more restorative if that is what your body is calling for at that moment. In Yin we compress the ligaments and joints with long holds and breath work to help the fascia to open. Rebound restorative poses will be added in to allow space for cellular healing and hydration. Yin works into the fascia and aids in joint mobility, flexibility and balance. The compression (the holding of the stretch) starves the joint of fluid while stretching the fascia around the joint capsule. When compression is released the joint capsule is freed, but the fascia remains slightly stretched and more open. Fluid, nutrients, and oxygen rushes back to the joint capsule and this flood of hydration is felt in the body as the rebound. Along with this more tangible shift Yin also helps to calm the nervous system (taking you back into Rest and Restore) and clear the energy channels (meridians) of the body through the fascia. This will be a 45-50 min practice with soft, instrumental music playing in the background though class. We will close with a 25 min yoga nidra meditation each week.

The practice of yoga nidra is a practice of yogic sleep that will guide you to a state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleeping. It offers you space to diffuse your triggers around past traumatic events without making you relive them. It gives your mind and body rest and restoration while tapping into your consciousness to help to rewrite the script running in your head. It is a way to drop your cortisol levels and bring optimum function back to your endocrine system. It helps you cultivate a deeper and more embodied mind, body, heart, spirit and soul connection.

The focus is to stretch your body, replenish your energy, nurture your mind, release the things that are no longer serving you and recalibrate your focus. Take the Yin pose or the more restorative modification depending on your energetic and physical needs at the time. Enjoy the peace that comes from listening to your body and meeting it where it is at, not where you wish it were.

I was feeling called and ready to rekindle our winter drum circles! Open to all! The Sheldon's offered the use of their wood stove heated barn this year! I am super excited to host these circles on their property! If you've never been, trust me when I tell you it's got a great vibe!

If you've been to one of the past drum circles I have hosted you will know that this is not your "typical" drum circle. I am passionate about holding sacred space for the community to come together with intention and connection. Connecting our hearts and weaving our rhythms together in a conscious awareness of the beat and energy of the space.

I will open the space with a welcome, a setting of an intention, and a centering meditation. The brief meditation will offer space to ground yourself and call in your spirit guides, well ancestors and other benevolent forces to hold space and guide you on your drumming journey.

Though we are all individual beings we will begin bringing our beats together as a community, listen to the thread and weaving our rhythms into a beautiful tapestry. Drumming with intentionality and awareness of the energy of the community and cumulative beat. You are encouraged to connect into the energy of the space and the community to weave your rhythm into the circle as you are called to with intention and awareness. Bring a drum, rattle or any kind of noise maker that you are called to bring with you. Folks like to bring extra drums and shakers to share so no worries if you don't have any! Please just be sure to ask to borrow their instruments. Or just bring your body and feel free to sit and absorb the music or move in the space to the rhythms as you are called to. You may find me drumming or dancing with a frame drum or my ankle shakers in the circle and you are encouraged to move around the space and dance if you are called to as well! Share your wisdom, your stories, your truth. Share in the energy we create together. Take what you need and leave the rest.

I will open the Circle at 6:40. This will give everybody enough time to arrive and set up. If you are running late, no worries, please come in and just pause and you can settle and set up in your space once the drumming begins.

We will plan on bringing our circle to close around 8:20 so that I can close the circle and we can have time to clean up the space together.
