Mindfulness Workshop:
Learning through the senses and Yoga Nidra
with Vahid
This workshop gives the practitioners a way to connect to their body, breath and sensations and emotions in their body and enables ways to draw meaning. The workshop is composed of brief education of yoga and nervous system, breath awareness and somatic movement, short break and discussion so as to assimilate the matter of the course and lead a life composed of informed actions rather than reflexive reactions. The workshop will organically lead into a place of rest ending in a light introduction to yoga nidra. Suitable for all ages and levels of mobility.
Objectives:
Create the connection between breath and motion
Understand sensations, raw sensations and emotions within the body
Shift from reacting to responding
Develop ways to stay present in the moment
How to cultivate curiosity and avoid judgement
How to bring mindfulness into one’s life
How to move with intention and draw meaning from sensation.
