About yoga4HIM, LLC
Taking Yoga to a H↑gher Level
…a HEATED studio built on faith
…honorably serving as Wetumpka’s only yoga studio
We are just a short drive from Montgomery Alabama and located in the heart of downtown Wetumpka. It is our intention to positively impact our students’ physical, mental, and spiritual health by encouraging them to set individual intentions that focus our thoughts inward (self-reflection) and upward (praising God) and/or by using our practice time as a form of moving prayer or meditation—all the while pushing our bodies to the limits as we build strength and flexibility on the mat.
What’s with the “Him”?
We opened our doors 7 years ago, and we STILL get asked why we are a studio exclusive to men. And then you realize the “him” is not for men at all, it’s for the Lord, so we must be exclusive to Christians only, right? WRONG! The owner is a Christian and does not hide that from anyone, but she doesn’t impose her beliefs on anyone either. The studio isn’t a place for preaching. We aren’t having church in here. Yes, a devo is read at the end of each class. We stress that you are in control of YOUR practice and are free to leave at any time. If you feel the need to leave before savasana and the inspirational message at the end, there will be no judgment in you doing so.
If you want to know how the name yoga4Him came to be, Vanessa will be honored to share that story with you. All you need to do is ask.
Our studio is opened to ALL. We encourage our practice time to be a time for reconciliation and healing, a time to unplug and recharge, and yes, time for prayer or meditation. Whatever you are needing for that day, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, we invite you to set your own intention for your practice. What you choose to think about while you are on your mat is a personal choice and very much in your control.
As small business owners serving our community, we strive to honor the Lord in all that we do. That includes how we name and run our business. Namaste, God bless!
OK, Why the Heat?
Our other popular question….Yes, we heat up the room ON PURPOSE. We live in Alabama; our summers are HOT and STICKY. We get it…who wants to work out in those conditions. Did you know that our heat is controlled through infrared heating panels and with a dehumidifier. Our practice room is NOTHING like stepping outside on a hot Alabama summer day.
The main reason for the heat…we can get a deeper, safer stretch and we can move more freely. The heat helps to relax and open up our muscles and the soft connective tissues. You can feel your body begin to relax and open up as soon as you walk into the room and even more so when you first lay on your yoga mat prior to class. It’s as if the heat is melting the day’s tension away from your body.
