grounding sequence in order to slow down the breath and reflect on your experience on the mat.
This session is truly for everyone, regardless the genders, ages and abilities.
Slow and graceful pace of the class will help you to learn how to listen to your body and gain the strength, not just physically, but mentally at the first place.
Often using of the yoga props along with many adjustments tor
the poses are welcoming everyone to explore the silence inside, even if it seems to be very challenging sometimes. Same like a life itself.
This Yoga practice is about quieting of the fluctuations of the mind and creating a relationship with our mind, rather than being constantly in a separation and uncontrollable fight inside. Through the conscious and mindful movements along with a breath, you will be guided to stay present and take most of the experience off the mat into your daily life.

Yin Nidra & Sound | Gongs / Singing Bowls / Synths & Trance: A Collaboration
Description
Collaborating on this series with Basia is musician, Dave Franklyn on synths,, and Sound Healer, Alex Stevens on crystal bowls and gongs.
Dave and Alex brings their collection of instruments along with singing bowls, crystal bowls and gong to perform a traditional sound bath over a bed of sine wave frequencies designed to directly correlate with the meditative guidance from the voice of Basia and the sounds of the synth.
Yin yoga is a floor-based yoga practice in which poses are held passively for a length of time, often a few minutes. Holding poses for a longer period of time works into the connective tissues (ligaments, joints, bones and fascia) rather than the muscles, it can also help prepare the body to sit for periods of time in meditation. Energetically, it taps into our ‘chi’ and helps improve the flow of energy round the body. The practice of yin yoga gives you space to turn inwards and tune the mind and body to physical sensations, often playing with your ‘edge’ and dropping deeper into your practice.
Yoga Nidra is also known as yogic sleep but is in fact a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping in which the body and mind are fully relaxed and which is conducive to emotional and physical healing. It works by following a guided relaxation and is an effective tool for deep rest and connection. Yoga Nidra can help to improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, help us to centre ourselves and find the truths hidden within our hearts.
This session is an explorative collaboration and will evolve over time. Consider booking a series of Tuesdays as we explore the space of sound within yoga.
Alternating Tuesdays with Sabina Bhandari, Classical Tantra with Gong Bath.

Description
According to Sri Aurobindo, all life is Yoga, while Yoga as a sadhana (disciplined and dedicated practice or learning) is a methodised effort towards self-perfection, which brings to expression the latent, hidden potentialities of being. Success in this effort unifies the human individual with the universal and transcendental Existence. Integral yoga reunites "the infinite in the finite, the timeless in the temporal and the transcendent with the immanent.

Holistic Yoga for Everybody with Kiran // BREATHWORK & Sound Yoga (incl. Bansuri Flute) Cancelled
Description
As well as yoga postures (asana), these classes are supported by various breath-control techniques (pranayama) as the grounding-point for achieving a state of stress-free harmony and calming the nerves. Breath is highly important to yoga practices as it is believed to be the source of prana (vital energy) for the body and can be harnessed as the bridge to connect the mind and the body together.
Sound yoga comes from the concept of the primordial vibration/sound AUM - that resonance which exists in all. These sessions with Kiran help you to connect with this omnipresence through mantra chanting, bansuri flute and evocative background music.
Kiran’s holistic practices are beginner friendly, suit all types of people, and are sensitive to the needs of all participants (variations are given to suit all abilities and you are in control of whatever you would like to try!).

Energy Sensitivity Training, Connecting with Angels + Blessing Mother Earth Meditation + Receive Pranic Energy Healing
With Gish Singh-Kular, Founder of Academy of Temple Arts
ENERGY SENSITIVITY TRAINING
Discover how to feel your aura. I have been exploring these methods for decades. I love seeing students faces light up the first time they experience this.
Following on from the Energy Sensitivity Training:
CONNECTING WITH ANGELS
We will be connecting with the Angelic Hierarchies to assist us in our spiritual development. This is very uplifting and highly recommended. Release stresses, removes emotional baggage. The POWERFUL RADIANT ANGELIC ENERGIES are a joy to behold. A life changing session.
BLESSING MOTHER EARTH GROUP MEDITATION
Dual Hearts Meditation (DHM) is a very powerful ancient technique revived by Master Choa Kok Sui as part of modern Pranic Healing. DHM clears and highly activates your Crown and Heart chakras. By blessing the Earth you also benefit from the good karma you create with this service.
By joining us in this special meditation you benefit in many ways including:
* Energising and highly activating two powerful energy centres - your Heart and Crown
* Helping raise the energies of the world and assisting in our collective upliftment and evolution
* Gaining more good karma
* Clearing blocks in your energy systems for greater ease and flow.
This meditation is delightful to experience and raises your vibration to a very high level. You will likely find yourself nicely energised from this meditation.
Finishing with:
DEEP SAVASANA RELAXATION WITH A PRANIC ENERGY HEALING SESSION
Pranic Healing
Pranic Healing (PH) is a non-touch energy healing modality. PH works on the aura and chakras (energy centres) of your subtle bodies - on the mental, emotional & spiritual levels, which in turn benefits your physical body. You may experience feeling lighter and cleaner/fresher after receiving a PH treatment session.
Relax deeply as your energy body is cleansed and refreshed with Pranic Healing.
These sessions are free, although we welcome donations according to your means. 100% of donations go to a local good cause.
By making a donation you’ll be gaining more good karma and helping a local good cause (The Hornbeam Cafe - local food bank).

Bhagavad Gita - A Yogic Philosophy
We are thrilled to announce that Stephen Silver, Principal of The School of Philosophy and Economic Science will be joining us here at Yoga in the Stars for a special evening of yogic philosophy, in a practical exploration of The Bhagavad Gita and how we take these ideas and philosophies into our lives.
The session will bookend with a Yoga Nidra to open the mind towards new and expansive ideas, and close with a sound bath with gongs and other instruments to allow you to let ideas settle in their own way. We will dive into the exploration of the Gita itself and how ideas held within may show up in our lives.
The focus will be Chapter 2.
In chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gītā, Arjuna asks what are the qualities of a wise person, a person of steady knowledge. Krishna answers through the rest of the chapter. The description is interesting and, in parts challenging. More importantly, the description tells us what we have to practise to grow in wisdom, in steady knowledge. We all have the capacity to be wiser than we are already; we all have the capacity to be wise. Krishna’s answer shows us how.
There will be chai and chats afterwards!
This is a Yoga-Social / £0 / Pay As You Wish / Everyone welcome
Starts 630pm

A bit about the The School of Philosophy and Economic Science and a message from Stephen Silver.
A bit about the The School of Philosophy and Economic Science and message from Stephen Silver.
One of the basic premises in the School of Philosophy is that what we are looking for is already within us. What we are seeking may be expressed in many ways, but ultimately the journey is inwards.
In the School we draw heavily of the ancient teachings from the West and from the East, in particular the teaching of Advaita, non-duality or unity. The Sanskrit word yoga can be translated as union or path. It is a path leading to union with the goal – or more accurately the source.
The School is not religious but it is spiritual. One of the scriptures that we refer to a lot is the Bhagavad Gītā, where the prince Arjuna is led by the teaching of the Lord Krishna from despair to calm resolution.
It will be illuminating, fun and, possibly, challenging.

For the Waterperry Retreat Programme
The School of Philosophy is running a series of short residentials at its retreat centre at Waterperry, near Oxford. In March, the focus will be on the Bhagavad Gītā and Yoga. The word Yoga is used variously throughout the Gītā. We will study and practise together to gain some understanding of the different ways the word is being used. And I’m delighted that Tarin will be coming to lead some sessions of simple yet effective yoga as a way to help deepen our experience.
The retreat will run from the evening of Monday March 11th to mid-morning on Thursday 14th. The cost is £190.
