Description
Join us for this deeply immersive experience, with 9 collaborating facilitators creating a journey and trance.
A tranquil evening of gently and slowly arriving into stillness to be immersed into a liminal space journey through guided Nidra and sound.
Collaborating on this series with Basia is musician, Dave Franklyn on synths,, and Sound Healer, Alex Stevens on crystal bowls and gongs. With other Paradhis Festival collaborators Mark Cummings (Mystery School of Sound) / Anne Shalo / Kiran SKG / Simran / Anna Love (Prana Space) / Ebba Nalini Aditi.
Dave and Alex brings their collection of instruments along with singing bowls, crystal bowls and gong to perform a traditional sound bath over a bed of sine wave frequencies designed to directly correlate with the meditative guidance from the voice of Basia and the sounds of the synth.
Yin yoga is a floor-based yoga practice in which poses are held passively for a length of time, often a few minutes. Holding poses for a longer period of time works into the connective tissues (ligaments, joints, bones and fascia) rather than the muscles, it can also help prepare the body to sit for periods of time in meditation. Energetically, it taps into our ‘chi’ and helps improve the flow of energy round the body. The practice of yin yoga gives you space to turn inwards and tune the mind and body to physical sensations, often playing with your ‘edge’ and dropping deeper into your practice.
Yoga Nidra is also known as yogic sleep but is in fact a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping in which the body and mind are fully relaxed and which is conducive to emotional and physical healing. It works by following a guided relaxation and is an effective tool for deep rest and connection. Yoga Nidra can help to improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, help us to centre ourselves and find the truths hidden within our hearts.
This session is an explorative collaboration and will evolve over time. Consider booking a series of Tuesdays as we explore the space of sound within yoga.
Alternating Tuesdays with Sabina Bhandari, Classical Tantra with Gong Bath.

Integral Wake Up
Description
According to Sri Aurobindo, all life is Yoga, while Yoga as a sadhana (disciplined and dedicated practice or learning) is a methodised effort towards self-perfection, which brings to expression the latent, hidden potentialities of being. Success in this effort unifies the human individual with the universal and transcendental Existence. Integral yoga reunites "the infinite in the finite, the timeless in the temporal and the transcendent with the immanent.

Primal Movement Flow
Description
During this session we ask ourselves "what would I be like if I had never sat in a chair or been able to get my food from walking around a busy supermarket. What would my body feel like if I had to run, climb and move just to survive".
This session is a discovery session, with yoga as the key vehicle. Balance, strength in posture and finding new movement patterns.
Special Notes: Set around vinyasa, expect some workshop moments and non-yogic movements.
You may sweat.

Yoga in the Stars is a project by The Metahealth Movement, a not-for-profit working towards elevated health.
We are thrilled to announce that £9,943 has been donated to Yoga in the Stars by The National Lottery Community Fund for a special new project The Yoga-Social!
The project is to create a space for people to come together around health and well-being. A free space to practice yoga, breathwork, movement, dance, tai chi and talk about health, food and lifestyle. Use the studio equipment and space in an open, inclusive and fun way. Expect spontaneous workshops and sessions, as well as a dedicated self-practice space, and we hope to invite other local yoga teachers to host sessions and workshops throughout the year to help grow and enrich the community.
Reach out to us with ideas.
Yoga really is for everyone, it’s a personal thing, and is a lifestyle choice that goes way beyond the mat and into every aspect of life, and we hope that this grant helps you to explore what this can mean for you as we discover together.
#NationalLottery and the National Lottery players, thank you!

Holistic Yoga; using Healing Flute, Rejuvenating Breath and Easy Postures; with Kiran SKG

Holistic Yoga; using Healing Flute, Rejuvenating Breath and Easy Postures; with Kiran SKG
Description
As well as yoga postures (asana), these classes are supported by various breath-control techniques (pranayama) as the grounding-point for achieving a state of stress-free harmony and calming the nerves. Breath is highly important to yoga practices as it is believed to be the source of prana (vital energy) for the body and can be harnessed as the bridge to connect the mind and the body together.
Sound yoga comes from the concept of the primordial vibration/sound AUM - that resonance which exists in all. These sessions with Kiran help you to connect with this omnipresence through mantra chanting, bansuri flute and evocative background music.
Kiran’s holistic practices are beginner friendly, suit all types of people, and are sensitive to the needs of all participants (variations are given to suit all abilities and you are in control of whatever you would like to try!).
