We always start in a call-and-response fashion where you repeat the mantras chanted before you.
Mantra yoga is a style of yoga in which the repetition of mantras is an important part. A mantra is a poem, word, statement, or syllable that is somewhere between a spell with a magical effect and a prayer. It is repeated and is intended as a continuous recitation or singing.
Chanting, or repeating mantras out loud is a means by which a yogi aims to change the state of consciousness.
