Menopause should be a celebrated time in a woman’s life, but with greater demands placed on women, it can often be a worrying and rather challenging transition. Hormonal fluctuations can lead to unpleasant symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, general aches, brain fog and unpredictable mood swings ranging from feeling down to unbridled rage 😡.png to name but a few!
Slightly more hidden side effects of the body losing oestrogen include loss of muscle tone and strength and bone density.
In our Pilates for Menopause class we aim to tackle some of these symptoms through:

Pilates is effective for stress relief too as it’s all about the mind-body connection helping you to become more aware of how you’re feeling both physically, mentally and emotionally.
Our goal is to create a community of women to embrace this time of life and support each other whilst keeping a positive attitude and a sense of humour.
This class is suitable for women approaching menopause age (preparation is everything) through to post-menopause.
The class includes access to our community Facebook group where you can find useful information and share your experiences with others.

By slowing the mind and the beats of the heart, we will take a journey of powerful connection into the body, mind and soul. Working through the five elements to bring balance to both the physical and subtle body.

This is your opportunity to tune into the body and observe the mind.

The elements according to Yin -

Wood element : Gall Bladder and Liver Meridian lines

Fire element : Small Intestine and Heart Meridian Lines

Earth element : Stomach and Spleen Meridian Lines

Metal element : Lungs and Large Intestine Meridian Lines

Water element : Kidney and Urinary Bladder Meridian lines

Yin Yoga Principles
The three principles of Yin (the three Tattvas)
1. Come into the pose to an appropriate depth (find your edge and diminish the Ego)
2. Resolve to remain still (unless your body opens and allows you to go deeper)
3. Hold the pose for prolonged periods of time (1-20 minutes)

By following the three Tattvas of Yin, we are able work past the superficial layers of the body - tapping into our energy channels (meridian lines/Nadis) in a similar way to acupressure, as well as working into the deeper connective tissues of the body, such as the Tendons, Ligaments and Joint capsules.

Slowww Soulful Yoga

For those who are older, experiencing some aches & pains, less flexible, new to yoga, peri menopausal & menopausal or just looking for a slower mindful class. Expect breath, asana, meditation and visualization accompanied by a soothing playlist. Experience gentle slow movement with that all important mind, body & spirit connection in this signature 60 minute class

If you've said yes to at least one of these you might like to try our Cardio Barre Sculpt class every Friday at 12:15pm @ YogaWolf Studio, Marlborough

These classes will give you a total-body barre workout with cardio bursts and dynamic strength exercises. The series is designed to alternate between targeted total-body, and endurance workouts to build strength, encourage flexibility and increase range of movement, fire up your muscles and leave your entire body feeling worked........and it's a ton of fun!

Mabon traditionally is a time to give thanks, to acknowledge the abundance the summer has bought us and to reflect on the year so far recognising what has bought you closer to your goals and what can be released before moving forward.

Join me on the 29th for a gorgeous woman’s circle and yoga practise where we will go inward. Focusing on the theme of balance and enquiring within as to where we need to balance more in our life’s in order to receive the abundance we may be seeking.

Through a two hour practise we will share in circle, go deep in meditation and soul enquiry- journaling on what is coming up and using our voices to bring it into awareness while embodying this deep medicine with a yoga practise to bring balance to the body, mind and spirit.

Tickets are £27 for the evening and includes a little gift for you, tea and chocolate.
